Mazda Protege Turbo
Increase your Mazda Protege's horsepower by using turbo without adding extra
pounds on its weight. A turbo is used to achieve energy boos by compressing the
air flow into the engine. As air pressure increases, fuel and power also increases.
The turbocharger together with the exhaust flow generates energy to spin a turbine
leading to the spinning of an air pump for more air compression.
Typical power boost is 6-8 pounds per square inch for turbochargers. Almost 50%
power boost can be attained using turbochargers considering the 14.7 psi at sea
level as the normal atmospheric pressure. Using a turbo is one of the surest ways
to squeeze more power from the engine to increase the amount of air and fuel that
it can burn.
Mazda Protege turbo kits usually include cast exhaust manifold, chrome heat shield,
downpipe w/ gasket, SS braided lines for water cooling, SS braided lines for oiling,
return hose and fittings for oil to pan, hoses & clamps, cast-steel turbo
manifold, bent intake pipe, raptor blow off valve, air flow meter, fuel injectors,
waste gate, front-mount intercooler, flow in-tank fuel pump and air filter. Included
parts vary for various turbo kit products.
